Two Star Fitwel Rating - January 19, 2022

200 King Street West received a 2 Star Fitwel Rating by the Center for Active Design.  This certification was achieved through incorporating a number of evidence-based design and operations strategies that support the physical, mental, and social health of occupants.  Please click here to learn more.

200 King Street West has achieved a Fitwel Viral Response Certification for our efforts mitigate the spread of infectious respiratory diseases at the building.

Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification

Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification measures accessibility standards in the operation of a building and in recognition of an organization’s commitment to providing an accessible building.

The Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification program works to help improve accessibility of the built environment in Canada – the places where we live, work, learn and play and helps create a fully accessible and inclusive Canada. 

Certification is from February 26, 2021 to February 26, 2026.

2019 BOMA Toronto race2reduce Collaboration Award

BOMA Toronto's response to the call for Climate Action. It is an Industry-led corporate challenge to promote operational excellence and emission reduction through improved building performance, innovation and unprecedented collaboration between building OWNERS, MANAGERS and TENANTS.

ENERGY STAR Certification

ENERGY STAR® certified buildings perform in the top 25 percent of similar buildings nationwide.  ENERGY STAR® certification is delivered by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  200 King Street West has been certified annually since 2018.

2018 BOMA Toronto Certificate of Excellence

The program sets the standards in the industry and recognizes excellence in property and facility management. Certificates acknowledge performance quality and the people behind it. Buildings with the highest score in their category for a given year, earn the TOBY Award locally and have the opportunity to compete nationally and even internationally.

2016 LEED® for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance, Platinum

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building, community and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.  200 King Street West was previously LEED Gold Certified.

2016 BOMA BEST Gold Certified

BOMA BEST Sustainable Buildings certification recognizes excellence in energy and environmental management and performance in commercial real estate. The Program is managed by the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA Canada) and delivered by the eleven Local BOMA Associations throughout Canada.  Previously, 200 King Street West was certified as BOMA BESt Level 2 under the former certification system.

2015 Civic Action's Race to Reduce Winner: Greatest Energy Reduction Award

Launched in 2011, Civic Action’s first iteration of the Race to Reduce challenged Toronto region landlords and tenants in office buildings of all types, sizes and ages to work together to collectively reduce energy use in their buildings and to decrease the total energy use.
